Rebreather Mod 2

The Rebreather Mod 2 course is the follow on to the Rebreather Mod 1 course This course trains the diver in the theory and practical skills necessary to safely dive a closed circuit rebreather in the medium trimix range (40-60m) using a normoxic (e.g at least 19% O2) trimix as a diluant.

On the course you will learn how to plan your gas management with regards to mixes and amounts required and conduct pre planned decompression stops using the rebreather.

The program runs over 3-5 days and will cover between 5 and 6 hours of in water time on the rebreather over a minimum of 4 dives down to a maximum depth of 60m

To take part in the IANTD Inspiration Mod 2 rebreather program you must be qualified as a Mod 1 Rebreather Diver either with IANTD or another recognised organisation. The diver must also have proof of a minimum of 100 (of which at least 30 were deeper than 27 msw) logged dives or sufficient experience doing technical dives to satisfy the instructor that the student has the ability and knowledge to continue into this level of training and also must have 25 hours logged on the inspiration and be over 18.

The student must also carry on the course a bailout cylinder of at least 5 litre capacity but preferably of 7 litres or above.

The Mod 2 rebreather course usually takes 3-5 days to complete and training can be carried out onboard any of the dive boats in Scapa Flow The cost for the course is £550 plus the cost of your gas/sofnolime fills (price as per boats standard rate).
