Normoxic Trimix Diver
The Normoxic Trimix course is the follow on to the Advanced Nitrox/Advanced Recreational Trimix course. This course trains the diver in the theory and practical skills necessary to safely dive using a twinset and stage cylinder in the medium trimix range (40-60m) using a normoxic (e.g at least 18% O2) trimix as a back gas.
On the course you will learn how to plan your gas management with regards to mixes and amounts required and conduct pre planned decompression stops using up to 100% O2.
The program runs over 3-5 days and will cover between 5 and 6 hours of in water time over
a minimum of 4 dives down to a maximum depth of 60m
To take part in the IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver program you must be qualified as
an Advanced Nitrox or Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver either with IANTD or
another recognised organisation. The diver must also have proof of a minimum of
100 (of which at least 30 were deeper than 27 msw) logged dives or sufficient
experience doing technical dives to satisfy the instructor that the student has the
ability and knowledge to continue into this level of training and be over 18.
The student must also carry on the course a stage cylinder of at least 5 litre
capacity, but preferably of 7 litres or above.
The IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver course as stated usually takes 3-5 days to
complete and training can be carried out onboard any of the dive boats in Scapa
The cost for the course is £550 plus the cost of your gas fills
(price as per boats standard rate).
